These catalogs allow you to search for items owned by libraries worldwide that participate in the OCLC system. These items can be requested for use through Inter-library Loan.

Catalog Searching Tips

Find Media

Search by composer, title, and/or performer by entering the name(s) and/or title associated with the work in the search boxes.

Search for titles of songs, operas, etc. in their original language, e.g. Mozart AND Nozze di figaro

Use the plural form of genres when searching for specific compositions followed by the desired instrumentation, e.g. Brahms AND Concertos, violin

Other:

Omit initial articles (the, le, el, a, etc.)
Enter author/performer searches by last name, first name
Double-check spellings from a reliable source such as

Find Printed Music

Search by composer, title, and/or performer by entering the name(s) and/or title associated with the work in the search boxes.

Use the plural form of genres when searching for specific compositions followed by the desired instrumentation, e.g. Concertos, violin

Lieder, arias, and songs are typically found in collections. To find a collection of songs by a composer, search by the plural form of the genre (lieder, arias, songs), e.g. Author=Brahms AND Title = Lieder

Find Books

Author Search: Enter the last name first, e.g. Mahler, Gustav

Title Search: Omit initial articles, such as "the" or “a”, e.g. Rest is Noise. Note: If you are searching for scores or recordings, see Find Printed Music or Find Media.

Subject Search: Subject searches locate books about specific topics.

Keyword Search:

Use "AND" to indicate both words must be present, e.g. Mozart AND sonatas
Use "OR" to indicate to either word must be present, e.g. fantasie OR fantasy
Use quotation marks to search by exact phrase, e.g. "non temer"
